Phoenix Motorcars manufactures a zero-emission, freeway-speed, all-electric SUV (SUT). It is an early leader in the mass production of full-function, green electric trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) for commercial fleet and consumer use. Based in Ontario, California, Phoenix Motorcars uses the revolutionary lithium titanate battery solution, a non-toxic, all-battery pack that eliminates noise and toxic vehicle emissions that contribute to air pollution.
The 35 KWh Altairnano lithium titanate battery delivers safety, long life and high performance with 100+ miles range, hurdles that have prevented the electric vehicle from being commercially successful in the past. Similar to lithium-ion chemistry, it implements a compound containing titanium that prevents the fundamental cause of uncontrolled thermal runaway. It can be recharged in less than 10 minutes, operates in cold and hot weather and is expected to last more than 12 years.
